++Cambodia Siem Reap 2013 Day 3 (pictures updated)

  • battambang (3hours drive)(by van 120usd pervan)
  • killing cave usd3 perperson for the ride & guide
  • bamboo train usd5
  • night market
we opted to go to battambang as per ketua tekkatan (warrie) advice as there's nothing more to do at siem reap. the journey took about 3hours drive by van (and also 3hours return).

killing cave.
-is where the khmer rouge (followers of pol pot, leader of komunist party of cambodia) killed for equals-right. they killed all the professionals & intellectuals (almost everyone who established any form of education, even the ones who can speak english pon, even people who wears spectacles (ridiculous!)), other ethnics (viatnamese, chinese, muslims, etc), anyone with connections to the former gvmt or foreign gvmt. they killed all of them by kicking them from top into this cave. mcm 'this is sparta!'. gila kan?

bamboo train.
-is a train made of bamboo :p. used to be the vehicle for transportation from battambang to nearest village, until the khmer rouge regime destroyed it.

we arrived back at our hotel around 9pm already and we dont have ample time to do shopping.
so, we just walked to the night market and grabbed whatever sempat.

and, i didnot have time (and money too) to oogle the paintings! stressed!
nasebek sibotak ade belikan painting at phnom penh.

and i was so sad, we cant afford (muflis) and didnt have the time to do the final inroom massage. sedih :(
